About the Event
You might think - okay, it’s just another gimmick. Sure, some yoga to some disco tunes sounds cool. Buuut .....BUT! The Disco movement was a social movement. It was liberation and celebration for groups that continued to be marginalized in the 1970s. Think about the most famous disco performers you know. Maybe Donna Summers? Grace Jones? Gloria Gaynor? Women of color! What are some of the songs you know? Sister Sledge’s We Are Family? Which became an anthem for LGBTQ people across the country.
