What's Your Medicine?

Hiya.

Wanna take a deep breath?

Soften your shoulders, soften your face, take a biiiiiiig stretch.

I LOVE STRETCHES.

Not like yoga stretches (though I love those, too, of course)

but like the big morning wake up stretch,

or the "I've been working at a computer for too many hours and I'm gonna stand up and make my body long again" kinds of stretches.

What's something that you just loooooove in your body?

A belly full of your favorite foods? Hot sun on your face? Cool breeze on your toes?

How often are we made to feel that everything about our bodies, how they look, how they feel, how we move or don't move them, is all wrong?

I HATE IT. I don't use the word hate lightly. But I HATE THAT.

So my invitation to all of us this week is that we remember to also find things to loooooove in our bodies.

If I'm being honest, I think that's my entire best hope for all of us through all the weeks, as we practice our yoga and do our workouts and have our dance parties.

I think having that hope is my dharma. The hope that each of us could loooove living in and moving in our bodies, our bodies which are safe in the world, all bodies safe to move through and in the world.

I have a mentor who talks about dharma in terms of:

What is your medicine?

What is the medicine you are put in this world to create?

How do you want your medicine to serve humanity?

Your medicine could be in your work.

Could be in being a really loving friend.

Could be in standing up against a bully.

Could be in the stories you tell.

Could be in the art you make.

The way you share your gifts is your modality.

The way you want those gifts to make people feel is your medicine.

SO maybe we have two invitations this week:

Find some ways to love being in or moving your body.

AND

Let the embodies version of you feel your way through the question of what medicine you want to bring into the world.

Let me know how it goes!
