Journey to Mindfulness
Allison has been practicing yoga for nearly thirty years, and teaching since 2012. She earned her 200-hour certification via Chicago's beloved Yogaview and completed her 500-hour certification with Jason Crandell in 2020. She has invested much of her time in continuing education workshops from master teachers such as Maty Ezraty, Michelle Cassandra Johnson, Noah Mazé, Kathryn Budig, Tim Feldmann, Tim Miller, and more.
Allison pulls from experience in many different styles of yoga to create an alignment-based vinyasa flow with a playful and adventurous energy. She also brings her training in a myriad of movement modalities such as ballet, pilates, mixed martial arts, and musical theatre dance to offer an exploration of all the possibilities a body can hold. She enjoys creating classes with curated music to inspire breath and fluidity of movement. Above all, she believes that yoga is a personal and profound experience, and encourages students to let their intuition be their guide throughout every class.
She is currently on hiatus from public group classes, but has previously taught with Namaskar Yoga, online via AHY digital studio, outdoor classes at Gallagher Way and Wrigley Field, rooftop classes at The Robey, in partnership with the Chicago Bulls and RUSH at The United Center, and with University of Chicago's Virtual Dance Lab during their pandemic shutdown curriculum development.
